Hi,

We have all IP Telephony infrastructure in distributed in two site however the sip circuits main and backup are installed in one site.

As currently no option to move backup SIP , we thought to have separated CME in DR and to be used for emergencies only

what can we achieve and what will we miss by having CME only not full collaboration application.

CME would not really help you in this as it's a totally separate phone system. What you need is a way to route calls to/from PSTN when the connection to site 1 (main site) is down. CME will not help with this. You would have to have a gateway, with connectivity to the public phone network, at site 2 and have the service provider route inbound calls via this circuit as well. Outbound you can control the path by configuration in CM, so that's easy to have it send calls via site 2 if the connection with site 1 goes down.

Hi

I have call manager nodes publisher and one subscriber in site1 and subscriber node in site2

and same for imp , unity and ccx

so if site1 is totally down still service is running in site2.

the issue in SIP as it installed in site1 only

For  your case, CME is not a solution. You need a Gateway connected to PSTN as DR site to make/receive calls during the outage at Main Site.  If you cant shift the Redundancy SIP trunk to DR, Get a PRI or At least some Analogue lines To make/receive calls during the outage at Main Site.
