ESXi upgrade

Hi,

It is probably asked before, but can we upgrade the ESXi on BE6000 machines?

We have a customer with a UCS C220 M3 and ESXi 5.1

They are going to upgrade the VCenter to 6.7 and they want the BE6000 to be in VCenter

Can the UCS C220 M3 be upgraded to ESXi 6.7 or at least 6.X and where do you buy the license from? Cisco or directly from VMware?

Thanks

JH

Have you seen this?

There is a compatibility tool from vmware you can check.

https://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/search.php

I believe the PUT (Product upgrade tool) can be used now a days to upgrade a esxi license that was purchased as part of a UC bundle if you have an active contract on it still. I have not researched in a year so.

What is the exact license you have on the server now? Was it purchased as a BE6K server?

Thanks, according to this link it seems the M3S can have ESXi 6.7

Yes, but you also need to ensure all of the UC apps and their versions you run on this server are also compatible with ESXi 6.7.

Hello Chris

This I already checked, we can go to 6.5 max, because of UCCX 11.6

The rest can be installed on 6.7, so we initially will go for 6.5

Thanks for the reply

Very good, good luck on your upgrade.
