Hi there,
I have a B200 M4 blade want to do SAN boot from storage array. The blade has a local disk. I need to keep the local disk, and would like to bypass it for SAN boot. When I configured a 'Local Disk Configuration Policy' using 'No Local Storage' mode as shown in the screenshot, and when I associate the blade with a service profile, got the error: "server does not fulfill local disk config requirements of the service profile". I did some search and tried to config a BIOS policy that can disable the SAS RAID, but it didn't do that work, still getting the same error. See the screenshot for error and BIOS policy. Any hints to overcome this?
I am using UCSM 2.2(3f).
Appreciate any pointers.
Thanks,
Braven

If you just want to bypass the disk during boot, just dont include it in your boot policy.
No need to disable the Onboard RAID controller.

The problem is that you are telling UCSM the server wont have any disks (no local storage) but it is detecting a disk... the proper configuration must be "Any Configuration" in the disk policy, that way it will not care about the disk configuration.
If this helps you, please mark it as "answered" for future users facing the same issue.

Hi Keny,
Thanks a lot for the pointer! I did try 'Any Configuration' mode, it's working. So there is no way to disable RAID controller so that local disk will not be detected? Or maybe there is a bug in BIOS policy that RAID controller can not be disabled?
Thanks,
Braven
