Received three new Cisco 210 M servers.
I have booted up two so far, and they both display the following error:
The battery hardware is missing or malfunctioning, or the battery is unplugged, or the batter could be fully discharged. If you continue to boot the system, the battery-backed cache will not function. If battery is connected and has been allowed to charge for 30 minutes and this message continues to appear, then contact technical support assistance.
Both have been plugged in for a couple of days so it should have had pleanty of time to charge. Is it typical for this model controller, LSI MegaRAID SAS 9261-8i not to come with a battery?
Thank you.

Glen,
It depends. There is the option to have the battery installed with that card. You can pop the top of the server and see if the battery is installed or you can load the LSI MEGARAID tools and query the controller.
You can also open a case with TAC. If you do have batteries installed most likely they sat on the shelf too long and need to be replaced.

You can also boot the server and break into the RAID controller configuration utility. Navigating to the Settings Option will allow you to confirm if the BBU is installed or not. It will also report if the battery is charging, and what percent it is currently at.

We had this error on 2 c210's yesterday, and i found a doc that stated it would take about 12 hours for the BBU to charge and run a learn cycle. Came in this morning and the original error in the first port went away, but now we are unable to initialize the virtual disks to install esxi.
If i run initialization fom the LSI utility it will run just fine, but when i try to check consistency it tells me the disks are not initialized. Am i missing a step? Both servers have the factory RAID 1 and RAID 5 sets configured.
