Black screen after press F8 UCS C220 M5

Last week we received one new Cisco UCS C220 M5 ( New out of the box) .

I have some problems with the setup of CIMC .

Normally you press F8 to config the CIMC , after the F8 you get the following screen for changing the default PW.

After the change I get only one black screen nothing more.

Even after one reboot I have the same issue, and ask me to change the PW again but the current is the previous PW that I have given in.

Second strange thing normally is the mgt nic standard DHCP enabled.

Also there I get no IP address

Hi Hans,

 

How about if you drain the power (removing AC power for 3-5 min) and try again? If you are still getting same issue, you may try jumpers to reset the cimc to defaults and it that too didn't work, try alternate cimc image using jumper. More in below link:

I removed the power cord for more than 10 min.

But this did not solve the problem !

Are there spare two-pin jumper on the mainboard ?

Because, we don't have this of jumper size in house.

never mind, problem solved...

 

tried wrong default password, which results in blackscreen... oh my @cisco
