I have had two recent cases of Flex Flash controller hanging up on two different C240 M3 servers. Luckily I have been able to resolve this issue by going into CIMC and resetting Flex Flash controller, but this is issue getting too frequent. We are using Flex Flash to boot up VMware ESXi 5.1 on these servers.
Has anyone else seen Flex Flash controllers hang up? I have filed an SR for this.

Hello Tomi,
It looks like
C-series losing access to flexflash/SD card with timeout error
Fix is being tracked for 1.5.3 version.

Tomi,
Here is another thread where we talk about this same bug Padma mentioned.

It might be helpful for you to subscribe to the bug itself as I mention in that other chain.

We performed below Workaround and fixed this issue:
1. Reboot CIMC from CLIssh into the management ip address of CIMC and run the below commands.
Scope cimc
Reboot
2. Now CIMC shows the controller is healthy.
But ESXi still shows the same error (/Bootbank cannot be found at the path /bootbank)
then ssh into the ESXi server and restart the service by using the below command
Services.sh restart (To restart all management agents on the host)
( this will not affect your VM running on it but this will disconnect the ESXi server and connect it back automatically when the service comes up).
