Connecting 2 UCS 6536 Fabric Interconnect in a cluster

Hello. I am setting up 2 new UCS 6536 Fabric Interconnect in a cluster. Besides connecting the L1/L2 connections directly to each other, do I need to connect any other the interconnect ports to each other as well?

To each other (as in FI to FI)? No.

To "upstream" (as in FI to Nexus)? Yes.
