Dell TL4000 Tape Library on Cisco UCS 6120

Hello,

We have Cisco UCS 5108 with 2 Fabric Interconnect 6120XP. We are running VMware on my Cisco Blades. I need connect my Dell TL 4000 LTO3 tape library to this Cisco UCS so that I can configure one virtual machine with EMC Networker software to take backups of virtual machine data. When I connect the tape library to Cisco UCS, it does not recoginize it as Tape drive.

Kindly suggest how to configure the same.

Quick question, are you connecting this tape library directly to the FI?

Yes I am connecting the Tape Library directly to Fabric Interconnect on 4Gbps FC port.

Amit,

We do not support any direct attach FC tape library to the FI currently.

It can only be a FC switch or an end FC storage.

If the Tape Library is connected through a switch - is it supported in that case?
