Disable FlexFlash entirely OR Turn the Alarm for it OFF!

Hello,

I have a UCS240-M3 that I upgraded to 1.5(3).  Now an alarm for the flexflash is slowly driving everyone crazy, but I see no way to turn it off, or even turn the alarm off.

I don't use flexflash so I'm willing to yank out whatever it is in there to get it to be quiet.

Yes, I searched and searched but could not find a way (that worked for me) to disable it.

I am currently updating to 2.0.3d to see if it has an option to turn it off or at least ignore.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What is exactly the alarm? FlexFlash messages do NOT cause any audible alarm... you might actually be having a HDD failure and you are blaming the SD cards.

Check the disks and be sure all the virtual drives are optimal and let me know.

Kenny,

You were correct!  I had some Cisco help turning off the LSI Raid alarm, even though everything from the controller up to the virtual drives are all green, nothing shows amiss in either the LSI bios (from the console when the server boots) or from CIMP.

The only thing I used pointing to the flexflash was it was the only entry in the whole CIMP that was flagged as 'red'.

Since this started when I upgraded the system 2 revisions ago (BIOS, CIMP, LSI, INTEL) I can only assume that the LSI firmware is the issue.  I can deal with the LSI.

Thanks

Then this might be the issue https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCuf24540/?reffering_site=dumpcr   ; take a look at the workaround and give it a try.

Symptom:
RAID Controller keeps beeping (1 sec on, 3 sec off). But RAID status is fine.
- No drives are offline.
- No drives are degraded.
- No RAID is rebuilding.
