Firewall openings for Automatic Firmware Update Sync-ups from Cisco.com in UCS Central

Hi,

I'm running UCS Central 1.4 and I want to activate Automatic Firmware Update Sync-ups. I've tried to make firewall openings to cisco.com but the log show a bunch of connections to akamai networks.

Does anyone have a list of required firewall openings to make the update service work? I havn't managed to find one (and I'm not allowed to make a general opening from this network).

Thanks,

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/ucs-central/install-upgrade/1-3/b_Cisco_UCSC_Install_and_Upgrade_Guide_1-3/b_Cisco_UCSC_Install_and_Upgrade_Guide_1-3_chapter_011.html#reference_D4E8C86D189B45CBBA6D28AED51759BF

Communication between Cisco UCS Central and Client browser

The following ports must be open on Cisco UCS Manager. The ports are accessed by Cisco UCS Central to enable communication between Cisco UCS Central and the client browser:

Port Number

Daemon

Protocol

Usage

443

HTTPS_PORT

TCP

Enable communication from Cisco UCS Central to UCS domains. This port is always required.

80

HTTP

TCP

Communication from Cisco UCS Central to UCS domains with the Flash UI. This port can be configured using the Cisco UCS Central CLI.

Note

This port is not required if you are using the Cisco UCS Manager HTML5 UI.

Thanks-

Afroz

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, but that is not what I'm looking for. Client browser <-> UCS Central works fine. I'm looking for what IP's or URL's does Cisco use for UCS Central auto upgrade.

According to this link firewall needs to be opened for Cisco.com but that does not work for me and my firewall log show connections towards akamai networks.

Cheers,

Jonas
