I dont have knowledge in data domain, but you can directly connect storages and network appliances in FI.
What kind of connection you will use and what is your FI firmware?

Always check the UCS storage interop matrix
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/switches/datacenter/mds9000/interoperability/matrix/intmatrx/Matrix8.html
Table 10-2 UCS-B Storage Support Matrix
3) Direct-Attached FC storage to 6120XP/6140XP/6248UP is supported in release 1.4(1) and higher. However, it is restricted to topologies in which the zoning database is provided from an upstream Cisco MDS 9000 switch or Nexus 5000 or 5500 switch.

Hello,
You can directly attach your EMC storage to your fabric interconnects in several different ways:
1) Direct attached storage via FC/FCoE. The zoning database will be on the FIs and requires FC switch mode.
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/servers-unified-computing/ucs-infrastructure-ucs-manager-software/116082-config-ucs-das-00.html
2) Appliance ports via ethernet.

3) Unified appliance port via FCoE or ethernet. Zoning database will be on an upstream fabric switch.

Hope this helps,
Justin
