Limit on number of VSM's within a vCenter datacenter?

Hi,

We have a number of datacenters within our vCenter installation, and now we are rolling out Nexus 1000v, can anyone advise if there is a restriction on the number of VSM that can be registered to a DC within vCenter?

We are aware of the 64 VEM limit to each VSM, however cannot find any documentation on the VSM-DC limit, if any.

Thanks,

LR

Lee - Questions on the Nexus 1000v should be posted to the 1000v forum.

https://www.myciscocommunity.com/community/products/nexus1000v

or

https://supportforums.cisco.com/community/netpro/data-center/server-network

(the first board will eventually be migrated to the supportforums site.)

In short, the 1000v is limited by VMware's DVS limitations of vCenter.  Any host can only belong to a single DVS, but you can definately have multple VSMs per vCenter and per DC.  I'm not sure the actual limitation, but it would generally be imposed by VMware vCenter, not Cisco.

Regards,

Robert
