Multi-Cluster Configuration on UCSM.

Hello Team,

We have planned to create a multi-cluster configuration on the same pair of FI Swatches.

As per the Cisco guidelines line, we are using different VLANs for HX-STORAGE, and for management and vMotion we are using the same VLAN with different IPS.

Now, in this scenario, we are using each cluster with separate Uplinks. Here we have performed the Disjoint configuration for each cluster traffic segmentation.

Cluster1
Server port-->>Port eth1/5 to eth1/12   and Uplink port -->>eth1/43 and eth1/44

Cluster2
Server port-->>Port eth1/13 to eth1/20   and Uplink port -->>eth1/45 and eth1/46

Cluster3
Server port-->>Port eth1/21 to eth1/28   and Uplink port -->>eth1/47 and eth1/48

So, above configuration work or not for Multi-cluster please suggest?

Thanks

Suraj

Yes, your configuration for multi-cluster on the same pair of FI swatches using disjoint networks should work. In your scenario, each cluster is using separate uplinks and disjointed L2 networks which is a recommended setup according to Cisco guidelines.

However, keep in mind that according to Cisco UCS Manager Guide, a vNIC can only communicate with one disjoint L2 network. So, if a server needs to communicate with multiple disjoint L2 networks, you must configure a vNIC for each of those networks.

Please ensure that you have configured Ethernet switching mode for both fabric interconnects in Ethernet End-Host Mode, configured the ports and port channels that you require to carry traffic for the disjoint L2 networks, and made sure that the service profiles for all servers that need to communicate with the disjoint L2 networks include the correct LAN connectivity configuration to ensure the vNICs send the traffic to the appropriate VLAN.

For more detailed information, please refer to the [Cisco UCS Manager Guide](https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/gui/config/guide/2-2/b_UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_2_2/configuring_upstream_disjoint_layer_2_networks.html).
