Here are the spec sheets for each B200:

B200-M2:

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-b-series-blade-servers/spec_sheet_c17-644236.pdf

B200-M3:

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-b-series-blade-servers/B200M3_SpecSheet.pdf

B200-M4:

http://www.cisco.com/c/dam/en/us/products/collateral/servers-unified-computing/ucs-b-series-blade-servers/b200m4-specsheet.pdf

The spec sheet will list the supported CPU combinations for each platform. While other CPU combinations may work, they are not tested and therefore are not supported.

HTH,

Wes

So Im asking if I can add new b200-m4 servers to the blade chassis slot  use the existing service profiles, boot policy from the older CPU b200 m3 which will be removed. Or do I have to create everything from new including a new boot LUN

Hello,

Thank you for clarification. To answer your question, you will not need to recreate anything. Simply remove the service profile from the B200-M3 (disassociate), add the new blade and re-associate the service profile to the B200-M4.

Please share the results.

I would be rather careful see eg. VIC-1240 in B200-M3 versus VIC-1340 in B200-M4
