Suggestion for C200-M1 BIOS/CIMC upgrade path

I have a C200-M1 UCS server running CIMC v1.1 and BIOS of C200M1.1.0.4.0.  As I am unfamiliar with the UCS servers, I am looking for a suggested upgrade path to the latest versions.  I know I need to do a manual upgrade at this point.  Do I need to make interim steps before I get to the latest versions?  At what point can I use the Host Upgrade Utility?

Thanx,

Karl

Padma,

Thanks for the input, I will give it a try.

At this time I cannot access the CIMC on this server.  I have the MGT port connected to my switch and CIMC has an IP address configured.  I also have my Gi1 port connected.  I can access the ESXi and CUCM, but not the CIMC address.  Any thoughts on that?

Karl

Hello Karl,

Are you able to ping CIMC ip address ?

Does SSH to CIMC works ?

Is switchport learning the mac address of CIMC port  under correct VLAN ?

Padma

Padma,

I have resolved my problem.  There was a duplicate IP address on my network.  Now I find that the CIMC only reponds to 192.168.1.10, even if 192.168.1.9 was configured on it.

I now see my CIMC version is 1.2(1b) and BIOS is 1.0.4.0.    I will upgrade the BIOS to 1.2.  After both BIOS & CIMC are the same, I will upgrade to the latest version.

Thanx
