Hello all,

Recently we upgrade our UCS C225 M6 firmware from shipped Release 4.3(4.242038) to Release 4.3(5.250030) by using HUU under this guidance from Cisco

https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/c/sw/lomug/4-3/b_cisco-host-upgrade-utility-user-guide-4-3/m_upgrading-the-firmware.html

all steps completed by just only Upgrading CIMC, BIOS and CISCO UCS VIC 1455.. all green checked and no error notification.. and then the reload perform automatically and at the end of the reload step, we got notification that mention  : "reboot : System halted"

*we want to run Nexus Dashboard on our UCS

the KVM console couldn't received any input like before we upgrade the firmware, like this :

before upgrade:

after upgrade:

we even try to rollback the upgrade using GUI on CIMC, and it's worked again like before the upgrade performed.. with several steps we've done below :

- upgrade CIMC from 4.34 to 4.35 vKVM mapped DVD HUU > system halted
- upgrade BIOS from 4.34 to 4.35 vKVM mapped DVD HUU > system halted
- Rollback one by one CIMC, BIOS dan Network Card to 4.34 using CIMC GUI> running well
- Upgrade CIMC, BIOS dan Network Card from 4.34 to 4.35 vKVM mapped DVD HUU> system halted
- Unplug power / power off UCS > system halted
- Reload CIMC version 4.35 > system halted
- Reset system from KVM on version 4.35 > system halted
- Rollback BIOS to 4.34 using CIMC GUI > system halted
- Upgrade BIOS to 4.35 using Bootable Flashdisk RUFUS > system halted
- Unplug power / power off UCS > system halted

we just wondering, is that the step we went through are wrong? or we missing something else ?

hopefully could have some inspiration from all you guys

cheers

Sounds like you are running into one of these defects. If you are still having issues after attempting the workaround, it may be best to open a TAC case and we can review and provide next steps accordingly.

is that mean, for now we need to perform downgrade simultaneously to the previous version 4.34 by using HUU by check all part (BIOS, CIMC, VIC) downgraded together ?

Yes, I would just downgrade to the 4.3.4 version until a fixed release is available.
