UCS 220 can use single DIMM ?

Hi,
I would like to as about memory channel for UCS.
Cisco UCS support dual channel memory.
If i am using 1 x DIMM only what will happen ? System cannot run ?
UCS didn't support single channel ? UCS cannot revert  to single channel mode ?
for example we buy 1x 16 G RAM only for UCS and install 1 RAM only. UCS can operate with Single RAM ?
or i need to buy 2x 16 G RAM ?

You can run with a single DIMM (Slot A1) which is linked to Processor 0

Each processor has to have at least 1 DIMM present, so if you have 2 processors you will need to remove 2nd processor, or add a 2nd DIMM.
