Hello guys!! How's everybody doing?
I have this ongoing project. We currently have 29 B200M3 blades, all running ESX. The RAID configuration on the service profiles are set to raid1 with both disks.
Our client wants to break this raid1 so that ESX is installed on disk 1 and the second disk be delivered to ScaleIO (that will also run on all 29 blades). To me this seems a re-install all ESXs on all blades job. But I was wondering. If I could break the raid1 but the ESX installation were preserved my job would be a lot simpler.
Is there any way of doing that?
Many thanks!
Rafael

Hi Rafael,
Unfortunately this is not possible. Any raid/disk related operations require the OS re-installation.

Thanks Ab! In my mind that was always true. But I had to double check and hope for a workaround. Hahaha...
The lazyness in me had to ask! Formating 29 blades it's!
Many thanks!
