All,
We have deployed many VMware vSphere / vSAN clusters over the years on UCS M5 and M6 hardware. In those cases, the Cisco HBAs were always on the VMware vSAN HCL. In the case of the UCS M7 series, the only HBA available is the UCSC-SAS-T-D, and this is NOT on the vSAN HCL (for Original Storage Architecture / OSA).
I've reached out to VMware, and they say the information on their HCL is supplied by the vendors, or Cisco in this case.
Has anyone successfully deployed vSAN on a UCS M7 / UCSC-SAS-T-D configuration?
Best,
Rick

Looking at the VMware Compatibility Guide for Model : HY6-CISCO-UCS-C220-M7S I see
Controller |

which is different from the UCSC-SAS-T-D you mentioned. Is this controller an option for you?

Looks like VMware vSAN HCL just hasn't been updated yet, looks like the below are the same card, just updated model number. (M6T is now called T-D on M7) I've asked Cisco for Official confirmation on this.
