UCS: VIC-1280 showing only 4 DCE Interfaces

Hi Guys,

I am just wondering why the VIC-1280 is only showing 4 DCE interfaces (1,2,5 and 6) rather than 8 DCE interfaces (1-8).

I have 2 chassis with 2 blades servers in each.

On Chassis 1, both VIC-1280s are showing the 8 DCE interafaces giving me 40GE to each IOM.

On Chassis 2, both VIC-1280 are shwoing 4 DCE interfaces now giving me 20GE rather than the expected 40GE to each IOM.

Maybe I have missed some bits in the config.

Any can help me out will be great.

What is the IOM model used in each chassis ?

Are there any other adapters installed in these blades ( Chassis 1 and 2 )  ?

Hi Padma,

Thanks for the quick response.

The IOM model on both chassis is 2204XP.

And there are no other adapter installed on any of the blades on both chassis.

The 2204XP IOM will only enable 2 backplane traces to each VIC (total of 4).  You'd need to use the 2208XP to see 4 backplane traces to each IOM (total of 8).

My error, I have double checked and Chassis one have IOM 2208XP and Chassis 2 have 2204XP.

That explains it clearly.
