Hi..
I'm installing UCS 220M3 with vmware ESX (hypervisor) but I wondering about IP address/subnet configuration
(UCS 220M3 has one M port and two LAN port (Shared LOM port is available)
1. I will configure as below, Is it possible?, if it is possible, how to do that?
CIMC = M port (dedicated port) , 192.168.0.0/24
Hypervior management = LAN 1 port, 192.168.0.0/24
VMs vNIC and Data traffic : LAN 2 port , 192.168.1.0/24
2. I will configure as below, Is it possible?, if it is possible, how to do that?
CIMC and Hypervior management = LAN 1 port, 192.168.0.0/24
VMs vNIC and Data traffic : LAN 2 port , 192.168.1.0/24
Please let me know about that and give me some guide
Thank you

Option 1
-Attach a monitor to the server, boot it up and press F8 when you see the "Cisco" logo
-Assign an IP address (192.168.0.0/24) and select the NIC mode as "dedicated" (option shows up as "None")
-Install the OS and assign an address (192.168.0.0/24) which will be your vmk0 assign to vSwitch0
2.168.1.0/24)
Note: If the OS choose a different vmnic for vmk0 than the desired one, just assign the additional vmnic to that vSwitch and then removed the one you dont want to use
-Create a new port-group and vmkernel (using the other vmnic/LOM port) and give it the IP address (192.168.1.0/24)
Option 2
-Attach a monitor to the server, boot it up and press F8 when you see the "Cisco" logo
-Assign an IP address (192.168.0.0/24) and select the NIC mode as either "Active/Active" or "Active/Passive" according to the level of redundancy you want to provide to your management traffic
-Install the OS and assign an IP address.
Note: This IP address CANNOT be the same as CIMC as they are totally independent
-Create a new port-group and vmkernel (using the other vmnic/LOM port) and give it the IP address (192.168.1.0/24)
Let me know if you have questions.
