Hi all,
Im about to update a UCS environment from 1.3 to 2.2 and it seems to be supported as the following document exists:
Shall i do a straight upgrade, or does it have to be a multi interim upgrade.
ie from 1.3 to 1.4 to 2.2??
thanks

Hello,
that guide is to upgrade from 1.3 to 2.0 which is not the same as 2.2.
Since the jump is huge from 1.3 to 2.2 cause so many things have changed, I would recommend you to go to 2.1 using this guide http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/upgrading/from1-3/to2-1/b_UpgradingCiscoUCSFrom1-3To2-1.html ; and then jump to UCSM 2.2.
If this is a production environment, please take the necessary cautions; set a maintenance window, read the release notes and choose the best version of 2.1 and 2.2 according to your needs.

Hi,
I'm in the process of building an action plan to perform my first UCS B Series firmware upgrade and found this great blog from Chris Murray. His website is unfortunately down at the moment - but I found his article copied over onto this other blog with further comments added:

Good luck and please consider sharing the lessons learned from your upgrade.

Hi,
UCS upgrade from 1.3 to 2.2 is a two step procedure.
We cannot upgrade directly from 1.3 to 2.2 (The lowest ucsm release which supports direct upgrade to 2.2 is 1.4)
We would need to go from 1.4 to to 2.1 then to 2.2
Please refer the below link for the upgrade guides you'll need

I carried out the upgrade last week.
Went from 1.3 to 1.4 then to 2.0 to 2.2
The upgrade process went fine.
