Hi

I got a couple of new B200M4 blades, installed Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacentre, and am now busy setting up my virtual, converged network.

I'm unable to install the VMFEX provider off the ucs-bxxx-drivers-windows.3.1.1a.iso install disk (F:\Installers\Cisco\VIC\W2K12R2\x64\CSCO_VMFEX_PROVIDER_64_2.4.11.msi), getting presented with this error:

Vmfex Port Profile Utility install failed. Reason is
Microsoft (R) MOF Compiler Version 6.3.9600.16384
...
MOF file has been successfully parsed
Storing data in the repository...
An error occurred while creating object 1 defined on lines 18 - 35:
0X80041002 Class, instance, or property 'Msvm_EthernetSwitchFeatureSettingData' was not found.
Compiler returned error 0x80041002
Log:

I have installed the Chipset drivers, and network drivers. Can't find anything online regarding the error.

Greetings.

Wanted to confirm you are not using UCS Mini?

Checking the interop matrix, also wanted to confirm the vic driver is at 3.5.0.13 on host?

"Adapter Driver   = 3.5.0.13 (PF, VF enic) / 2.4.11 (vmfex_ext), 1.1.18 (UCSM provider)"

I haven't found any matches for your error message either.

If you can confirm you have the driver (3.5.0.13), and the adapter in B200M4 is running the matching firmware bundled with 3.11 blade firmware package, then you may need to open a TAC case and have logs reviewed.

Thanks,

Kirk...

Howdy

Not running UCS mini.

Confirmed that the current UCS firmware is on 2.2(5a), so downloaded the driver package for it, same result.

If you are running 2.25 UCSM firmware level then the matching enic driver is a bit different.

"Adapter Driver   = 3.4.0.12 (PF, VF enic) / 2.4.11 (vmfex_ext), 1.1.18 (UCSM provider)"

VMfex is pretty picky on having exact firmware, enic driver, fex ext driver.

Thanks,

Kirk

Actually, got the error.

Had to install the Hyper-V feature.

After feature install, you got it to install/work?

Thanks,

Kirk..
