Hello Everyone
So i have been trying to get Windows NLB using IGMP with multicasting to work on our 6200 series fabric interconnects. I can get everything setup but cannot ping from outside the NLB subnet. Our upstream environment is an L3 3850 stack with 10 GB cards. I have static arps mapping the VIP to the multicast mac address. Most of the docs say to apply this to the NLB vlan but on an L3 Catalyst device you can only call this out globally.
The docs say to configure the multicast policy on the UCS to allow for IGMP snooping and enable IGMP querier which is asking for an IP.
Questions:
Is the IP of the NLB querier supposed to be the SVI of the upstream NLB Vlan?
Am i supposed to do anything on the upstream switches allow it to be the querier? IP PIM dense-mode? Spare-mode?
How do i know if this multicast policy is actually applied to system? I am editing the default policy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
