Can a Service Profile automatically create a RAID1 config?

We have the following setup:

Service Profile Template "sptTest"

sptTest has a Storage\Local Disk Configuration Policy called "RAID1".

Local Disk Configuration Policy "RAID1" mode is set to "RAID 1 Mirrored"

However, when I create a Service Profile from the template and assign to the physical blade (UCSB-B200-M4), the 2 SSD locally installed disks were not automatically raided together- is this supposed to happen?

I had to reboot the servers and access the RAID configuration via POST CTRL-R to configure the RAID controller, which btw is a Cisco FlexStorage 12G SAS RAID Controller, model: UCSB-MRAID12G, PID: UCSB-MRAID12G REV C0. The disks are Micron 240GB 2.5 inch Enterprise Value 6G SATA SSD, PID: UCS-SD240GBMS4-EV.

Hello,

I just tried to rebuild your setup and for my configuration it worked. Changing the "Local Disk Configuration" to RAID1 in the Service Profile Template changed the policy for the Service Profile (SP). After that I associated the SP and I do have a Local LUN mirrored with RAID1:

Did you get any errors or warnings before associating your SP?

My setup:

- B200 M4 (Firmware 4.1(3h))

- Controller: UCSB-MRAID12G

- SSDs: 2 x UCS-SD120GBKS4-EV

If the disks were in server that previously had a service profile with 'protect configuration' then you would get a configuration error.
