I am installing ESXi 5.1 with Cisco ISO U3 on a C240 M4 on a Cisco UCS 2.2.3c. I am using the local drive with the FlexFlash with two SD cards Enabled Paired. While installing I was prompted with the following error;
"Can't have a partition outside the disk! Unable to read partition table from device"
I ended up resolving the issue by Appling two option. First I created a Flexflash Scrub with the below settings and added it to the Service Profile on the UCS.
After I have set the FlexFlas Scrub and rebooted the systems I set the Scrub back to your normal setting like a no scrub policy. Secondly, I Formatted the SD Cards by going to the "Inventory" tab within the server under the "Equipment" tab on UCS and select the last tab which is "Storage" on the Storage tab you will find the three FlexFlash option. Choose the Format SD Card option and ensure the RAID status is "Enabled Paired". Not sure if anyone else ran into this issue or knows of any other option for correcting this issue.

Hi,
I ran into exactly the same issue whilst installing ESXi 6 .
My solution was to boot an ubuntu 15.04 server cd, change console to second screen and use fdisk to manually delete the (only) partition from the flexflash storage.
After doing so I was able to install.
For initial error encountered: see enclosed screenshot.

Hi Keith,
There is a documented Bug for this issue.
https://tools.cisco.com/bugsearch/bug/CSCus51007/?reffering_site=dumpcr
Work around: Install previous ESXi version and then try to upgrade from the OS.
Also check the Compatibility matrix to confirm that this is a supported configuration
