UCS in the lab

Hi everyone,

I am trying to build a UCS lab environment and need need some help with the build. I will probably buy it from third party reseller. I need minimum basic components.

I would really appreciare if someone could help me build the required components for UCS anf FI. I already have dual N5Ks. 

Chassis:  5108?

FI: 2 x 6100  ?

IOM: 2 x 2100 ? Dual

Blades model: 2 x B200 ?

Blade count: 2

Core Count: ?

Processor: ?

RAM: ?

Drives: ?

I will just run 5 to 6 VMs. I dont need high processor and RAM. 

This is just for lab setup so I don’t need new equipment. I will get old even if it is close to EOL/EOS.

Do you want your lab to be running on new firmware 3.1xx + ? or are you cool with leaving at 2.2xx?

That changes a lot with what hardware is compatible.

I would just recommend getting set up with a entry level Gen2 set up.

6100 FIs

5108 with 2104s or 2204s

2 x B200-M2 basic conf, 2 x 6core, maybe 48gb ram and a couple 146gb 10k drives.
