Hi Scott, Yeah that's right it has many buggy behavior as you said and even I suspect this might be the issue (stale entries on the DB even after the upgrade), But not sure what is causing the issue. It's not with particular device model, It varies from device to device. When I try to resync the devices which are having issue I get 1 or 2 more new devices with collection failure issue. Cisco Prime is running on VM (standalone)
CPI running on 3.4 Update 02 and Device Pack 9
Showing collection failure for couple of devices models, Not with particular model.
Issue is seen since last 6 months
Deleting and re-adding the device is fixing the issue temporarily but again all these devices go into collection failure state.
Seeing below error on collection failure bar
Collection Status: An unexpected error has occurred:
# Check the device is in supported device list in deployment guide.
# Check there is connectivity between the device and Prime Infrastructure
# Check the device credentials provided are valid.
# Finally if the problem still persists then contact Cisco System's technical assistance center
Issue seen for below devices for now. This might change and we see issue for couple of other devices.

Hi Guys,
As Cisco says Nexus is supported on PI. But only few particular models are supported. Its doesn't support all the Nexus modules.
Before adding any Nexus device on PI, Please refer the latest DP for particular module.

This is a common issue where the DB fail's to start ncs service.
Try the below
1. ncs cleanup (# ncs cleanup)
2. Stop the ncs service(# ncs stop) and perform reinitiate database (# ncs db reinit)
3. If the above doesn't work you have to do a fresh installation and restore a backup of Prime if you have one.

Hi All,
This is a known issue effected on almost all 8.2.x code as well.
I was running 8.2.166.x.
was seeing the error message on console.
Rebooting the controller fixed the issue, If not you can upgrade to 8.3.170.0 or 8.3.143.x

Hi All,
I have the same issue where NMSP status is showing inactive on the PI.
Workaround performed 1. Deleted the SHA key from Controller (From WLC Web Gui TAB > Security>AAA>AP Polices ) 2. From the MSE CLI got the output of "show server-auth-info" and collected MAC address and SHA keys 3. Re-configured WLC with SHA key 1/ SHA key 2 with below command, But no luck. "config auth-list add sha256-lbs-ssc <MAC address of MSE > <SHA Key>" (MAC of the MSE in xx:yy format) 4. Restarted the MSE services (# /etc/init.d/msed stop # /etc/init.d/msed start) 5. Also tried this from MSE CLI: config unauthenticated-nmsp true 6. Restarted the PI services (# ncs stop verbose # ncs start verbose) 7. Synchronized the WLC on the PI/ Deleted and re-added back the WLC on the PI. 8. We are running only WIPS, Hence tried synchronizing with disabling and enabling back the WIPS service. 9. Still i don't see the NMSP status is showing as active.
PI version: 3.2 MSE version: 8.0.150.0
PI and MSE are on VM

Hello,
we are monitoring the network devices and getting traps to my tool. Now i need to get alert when my uplink goes down. this should done by snamp-trap only.
now my question is can cisco device generate any word when its sending trap of specific interface so that my trap tool can filter it. Because i dont need any alert when user interface goes down. all my uplink will not have the same interface.
some thing that my snmp trap tool can filter when my uplink goes down. not the user ports. present i can see that my trap tool is getting alert what ever interface goes down.
can we send any tag word when sending traps
