Hi!
I`ve added skype SIP trunk to my UC320W system. Everything works fine, except that sometimes I cannot make an outgoing call ("Temporarily not aviable" error).
The SIP trunk configuration settings:
I`ve contacted the skype support and they told me that my outgoing codec is G729 instead of G711a, and that`s the problem why I cannot make outgoing calls (skype supports the G711 codec only). But in the Systemwide SIP Parameters the codec is set to the G711a.
Any ideas how to check what is the real outgoing codec for the UC320W system?
Is there another way how to setup the G711a codec on UC320W system?
Best regards, Edgar!

Hi Edgars
The UC320 team have a fix for you (assuming it's the same problem)
check out
https://supportforums.cisco.com/docs/DOC-16301
and look for the codec name change for skype interop.

Paolo the UC320 has a region setting which changes things like dial-plan / codec selection depening on which location is chosen, eg it does u-law when set to US region - a-law while in Europe

Hi Edgars,
Sorry to bother you with such a simplistic question, but I recently bought a Cisco WIP 310 G and have not been able to identify a voIP provider in the US. I am starting to think that I got bad product.
Can you suggest how I might find one.
Many thanks in advance,
Scott Gehlke

You can't find a provider, and blame the product ?

Use G.711u, not A.
For further help post in "SBCS" forum, not here.
