Hi Expert,
I have a Cisco2911.
It's include below,
1)PVDM2-16.(in mother board)
2)VIC3-4FXS/DID x 1.(in VIC slot)
3) HD-2V x 1 (PVDM2-8×1onboard)
4)2)VIC3-4FXS/DID x 1.(in HD-2V)
*: VIC slot empty x 1
*: HD-2V VIC slot empty x 1
Now, I'm trying to add a module below.
A) VIC3-4FXS/DID x 3(in VIC slot)
B) VIC3-4FXS/DID x 1(in HD-2V)
Codec is g729r8.
The Cisco DSP calculator said that you need the PVDM2-48.
But I think that it's available the PVDM2-16 and PVDM2-32.
This combination are possible (PVDM2-16 adn PVDM2-32) , right ?
Regards,
Takuro.

The PVDM is just a hardware chip you install in your router to support packetised traffic (aka voice). To avoid over subscribtion the router is intelligent enough to reserve dsp's from the available eachtime you install a voice card/module ( FXO, FXS, T1/E1 cards otherwise known as VWIC cards etc). The conbinations are possible indeed. Available for usage dependent on explained above and enable complexity configured. The url below is a very good wite up I suggest you read.

Hi babatunde_sanda,
Hi Paolo Bevilacqua,
Many thanks for your advice.
In this case,
-PVDM2-16.(in mother board)
-PVDM2-32.(in mother board)
-VIC3-4FXS/DID x 4.(in VIC slot)
-HD-2V (PVDM2-8 x 1 onboard)
-VIC3-4FXS/DID x 2.(in HD-2V)
Does Cisco2911 not need the HD-2V's PVDM2-8 resource ?
All voices to process on PVDM2-16 and PVDM-32 ?
(Need no HD-2V's PVDM2-8?)

Takuro

If you need many FXS ports is better not use NM-HD.
Use instead EVM-HD-8FXS/DID, with one or two EM3-HDA-8FXS/DID.
