HI David, yes i did do this with CCA. The dial plan was correct, the UC box just needed a reboot for it to apply the DID to the new extensions. All working just great now!
Thanks....
PS. how do i mark my own answer as 'The Answer'???

There is no problem in shared extensions having a DID, and it is a very common configuration. No special steps are needed.

Hi Jeremy,
Are you doing this with CCA? If so you might have to delete all current mappings and then recreate them from scratch to apply such a setup, CCA does not like you taking a DID out of a range and splitting that range for some reason.
However to do this you might have to do it after hours as it can take up too 30 minutes to delete that part of the configuration and then reapply it, as this will require some thought process and I would even encourage you to write it down before you do it so you can work out your range splitting.
Cheers,
David Trad.
