Help on Extension Mobility Please

Hello All,

Could smeone please tell me ,"How to disable Extension Mobility on CME 8.0 and  to reboot all my Cisco IP Phones 7941"?

I have done "no voice logout-profile 1" on each phones , still i could not return to my formal setting.

I reset the phone with 123456789*0# ,but no result.

I would be glad on your support

David,

You may need to give each phone a username and password, under the ephone.  And also make sure there is a button assignment for each ephone.  Then you many need to delete and recreate the CNF files.  Would need to see your config if it is still not working.

I was about to locate the problem with Extension Mobility ,with " no logout-profile " and  assign button to each phone .

But one of the IP Phone I want to reset factory setting is not working .

Could you please confirm, how long does it take for factory reset ? This Phone has been trying to get details from CME since 2 hours now.

Not sure exactly how long to factory reset a 7941, but definitely less than 2 hours..  Maybe 5 minutes would be normal..

The  Cisco IP Phone C-7941G still the same since  24hours. I check switch and CME connected to IP Phone,  I received this error message

Re: %IP_SNMP-3-SOCKET: can't open UDP socketing

%IP_SNMP-3-SOCKET: can't open UDP socket on port 161

I am not sure why your phone is not coming up, but I do not believe that it has anything to do with extension mobility.  Here is some information on configuring extension mobility though CLI, if you are not using CCA.  If you are using CCA, just edit that phone, and remove the extension mobility check box.

This is the right way to configure Extension Mobility (EM):

(1) First, do this on CME( config) mode

Ip http server

telephony-service

url authentication http:///CCMCIP/authentcate.asp

(2)

voice logout-profile 1

   user password <1111>

   number 5000 type normal

   speed-dial 1 5000 label 5000 ! >>>> This will be the number that shows on your IP Phone<<<<

(3) ..Depend on number of people in a group ,( If you have 10 people in a group ,you need 10 of User-profile)

voice user-profile 1

   user < A> password   >>> as you want your password to be

   number 5001 type normal

voice user-profile 2

user   password

   number 5002 type normal

voice user-profile 3

user password

   number 5003 type normal

    exit

voice user-profile 4

user password

   number 5004 type normal

   exit

voice user-profile 5

user password !!!!>>>>>>Make sure the user name are not the same

   number 5005 type normal

    exit

voice user-profile 6

user password

   number  5006 type normal

   exit

(4) Assign logout-profile to each Ephones ( This must equal number User-profile)
