I just received a new SPA525G2 phone, when booted the admin section is not visible through the web interface. When trying to access http://w.x.y.z/admin I receive a 403 Forbidden. When trying to factory reset, nothing more happens.
It seems that it was already connected to a uc320, but I just received it fro my vendor.

Can you get into the phone UI and get to the factory reset under device administration? If it asks for admin password to do this and you don't have that password, then send back to the vendor for exchange.

Or you could just reset the phone as shown here on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pq3jYvzTlJc
Should do the trick.

I already tried to do this kind of reset, but without any success.I Can do a factory reset on the phone itself, but the same way, the admin part of the web gui is not accessible and after a few seconds the web gui itself is no more available.

Looking at that i would say someone has set the Web Admin Access to No, therefore disabling access to it? maybe even turned off Web server option too??
However if that was the case doing a factory reset should resolve this!
If you have tried both types of reset and still no result it must be a bad firmware image, reflashing it would probably help. If you follow the youtube link above and follow the "recovery" guide and select option 2 you should be able to reflash the phone with a new firmware image!
Try that!
If that don't work i would bet a twix on it being broken.

I tried bot kind of reset, the normal one and the recovery reset. I also tried to upgrade to the latest firmware using a USB device, but no way. The hostname is strange for this kind of phone, it looks like a CUCM aware phone (SEP00077DC90AB0).

Hostname is fine, when left blank it shows as SEP *Mac address*
00077DC90AB0 IS the MAC address of your device.
If you have tried all the above then if it is under warranty return it.

It sounds like this phone has been plugged into a UC5xx or a UC320 before. It's defaulting to it's SCCP firmware. If you're wanting to use it as SIP, then you can manually change the call control settings and be able to get the admin GUI.
1. Hit the Directory button(looks like a piece of paper with the right corner folded down)
2. Hit 8
3. Hit 7
4. Press the right key to select SIP
5. Scroll down and turn off Auto Detect SCCP
6. Click Save.
Phone will reboot and come up with SIP settings.

Looking at the product # on the box, I have seen that this phone was
Cisco SPA525G2 RC SKU
It is a special product for service rpovider provisioning. I found nothing about this service on Cisco CCO web site.
So it is what I cannot access settings.

Yes, I've made that mistake myself once. Cisco offers a provisioning server for those phones to service providers who subscribe to that service. Basically, it allows a service provider to ship phones directly to customers from Cisco and skip the provisioning step or mantain their own provisioning server.

Please return the phone to your distributor for exchange for a non -RC device.
The -RC sku's are a special sku for service provider customers to do a no touch configuration prior to install in a hosted mode.
The phone will load a service provider specific configuration but since the phone is not assigned to a SP it cannot be configured.
