SPA922 IP Phone one way call problem

Hi, we have a few types of IP phones deployed in the field.  Currently we're experiencing a problem with a Planet VIP-103PT phone calling a Cisco SPA922 phone:

  • When a Planet VIP-103PT initiate a call to a Cisco SPA922 (firmware 6.1.5a), upon answering, no voice can be heard on both ends.
  • But the other way around, a Cisco SPA922 calling a Planet VIP-103PT, everything works normally.

Any idea what the problem might be?  Thanks!

Dear Sir;

This may have to two with two things (provided there are no nat issues):

- Packetization time is not matching

- Codec naming issues.

I suggest you check and the traces and ensure that codec and packetization time configuration is the same for both phones.

Thanks for the suggestion.  As it turned out, it's a bug in the Planet phone's firmware.  After installing their beta firmware, the problem is solved.
