UC320 - Remote Phone(s)

I was told by Cisco support that the UC320 does not support connection/registration of remote IP phones ... only locally attached phones can register.

My question was, if an L2L VPN existed, would a remote IP phone then be able to register?  It was then stated that an "official" statement could not be made, and that I would need to ask this support community whether this would work.  I hereby ask this question.

To take it one step further, if the IP address of the UC320 is natted to a public address via and ASA, is there a possibility that a remote phone can register?

TIA

Well I have been pondering this issue myself. Theoretically in a VPN environment the uc320w would have no idea the phone wasn't local. There may be underlying performance and reliability issues involved, or vlan issues. The only way to know would be to try. To the lab!

You may get more responses to this issue in the uc300 section.
