I recently took over a small business that is utilizing the UC520 for phones. After some previous issues, we decided to start over from scratch. I downloaded all the necessary files (I think) from Cisco, loaded it up with the latest and greatest. After trying to enable music on hold, and auto attendant, it appears I don't have the referenced .wav files anywhere on the flash? In fact I don't see any ring tones either. Is there another pack I need to install maybe? I did download the bacd files, and played them on my desktop, so it seems those are at least there.
The reason I am even looking at this is, when I was setting up the AA, the attendant picks up, and it's just dead air. The default file it is referencing is "AABusinessOpen.wav" and I can't seem to find it.
Software Pack = 8.1.0

If you have a smartnet contract I would open a case with TAC. If not I'd try the archive tar command to unzip the files unto flash manually.
archive tar /xtract ftp://
To configure login for the ftp server:
CME(config) ip ftp username
CME(config) ip ftp password
I believe it will overwrite existing files make sure you have enough space on flash.

Hi,
Prompts and scripts can be viewed from 3 places I know of CCA, Cue web page and Cue CLI. If you did a fresh install, CCA can help with a good baseline configuration. From CUE cli you can issue this command "show ccn prompts", and from the web page http://10.1.10.1you can go to System => Prompts. The file size of the default AABusinessOpen.wav is notable less than the other prompts and has no recorded audio. I think somewhere around 1024 bytes. Try using either one of the aforementioned tools to switch to another prompt for e.g. AAExtensions or AAWelcome. These prompts should have some recorded voice. These files are stored on Cue's flash.
music-on-hold.au can be found on the root of flash in the media directory
Hope this helps

Thank you for your responses. I am mainly using CCA 3.0 to configure the device. I have verified that the default music on hold exists, and was able to play it on my local machine after grabbing it from flash. However, when trying to configure the MoH within CCA, I cannot get any audio files to select in the dropdown menu.
I did switch to another AA file other than the AABusinessOpen.wav, and it works fine. So at least I know that is working as intended, I just have to record proper greetings and set the call routing as I need.

Please verify these commands are entered under telephony-service
moh flash:/media/music-on-hold.au
multicast moh 239.10.16.16 port 2000
and I believe you already verified that the files are stored in the correct directory on flash. Please keep us posted.

Okay, CCA should perform this step for you.
1. Go to System (in menu bar) click on Preferences => Advance and check Enable CLI postview so we can see cli changes made by CCA.
2.Click on the Configure Drawer =>Telephony=>Voice Features=>Music On Hold
3 In the Audio File box select one of the available wav files and click ok. (sounds like the current selection is none)
Verify that the changes are committed to cli.
** I didn't see the media directory in the show flash output, could you verify this step first **

I think that is the issue, as to why I have no ringtones either. In that pulldown, the *only* option is none. So if I don't have a media directory, what then?
**no, there is no media directory located on the flash that I can see.

Ah ha, I notice that you're also missing your ringtone directory. Not sure why you're missing these directories. I would probably use CCA to install the latest SWP and upgrade both ios and cue, since you're missing those directories I'm not sure what else maybe missing. This way all the necessary file/folders should be extracted.

I guess that's why I was confused. I installed everything from the software pack when I reset this thing back to defaults. Or at least I thought I did. The software pack update is what got me from IOS 12.4ish to 15. I can try it againn I suppose. I even tried extracting the software pack manually, I mean if there's a media folder with the right content I could just put it there instead of doing the whole thing. Ok, well I suppose I will try that then, just backup my config and try the pack again.

After a complete software reload, formatting the flash enabled, my flash directory still looks as it did before. I am baffled as to what is going on. I can repost the new directory listing if needed. I used UC520_8.1.0.zip from the Cisco Download center.

Ahhhh, ok. So I must have missed that file. It appears that CCA 3.0 isn't extracting that item, for some reason. If I do a manual extraction of the zip of the software pack from the download site, within that is the .tar you referenced. A newer version of course, it's 8.1. I can manually extract that and put it on the flash easily enough, as long as it creates the proper directory tree structure when extracted. I think with your help I will now be able to resolve this issue.
Thanks so much!
**final update**
Indeed, that was the issue. After copying the .tar file to the flash, and extracting it all back out manually, the media and ringtones directory did indeed appear as they should. I would guess this is some kind of a small CCA bug, as everything else out of the original complete software pack installs as it should.

Using the CCA Telephony Setup Wizard (TSW), when you come to the AA setup window, you can record an OPEN and a CLOSED greeting, to align with your business schedule. Th that time, they will be transferred to flash.
You can also use the AvT (Admin via Telephone) for a running system to record a new prompt or greeting and it will also upload the file to flash.
