Hello,
We have a UC540 which we are trying to add an Cisco SG300-28P switch to, however the CCA tools are not picking up the switch, nor if we plug in a handset (SPA 508G) it is picking up it's configuration file.
We have tried plugging it into both the POE lan ports and the "Expansion" port, but the CCA software still doesn't pick it up.
We have however browse to the device on the network via a web browser.
Can someone tell us what we're missing here so we can get this working?
Thanks
G

Graeme,
The SG300 switches do not currently support CDP, so they will not be discovered. CCA currently does not support configuration of these switches from the CCA software. From my understanding, a new firmware for these switches will be released that does support CDP, but I do not know the timeframe. So for the time being, you will need to manually configure the switch through its web interface. Also, since the switch does not support CDP, the phones will not pull its voice vlan automatically. You will need to use LLDP to inform the phones of the voice vlan.
Thank you,
Darren

I assume this is the reason that the UC540 wont recognize the switch as such and thus connecting the GIGABIT uplink into the expansion port on the UC540 results in a 100mb connection?

Hi Graeme,
You might want to look at this if you get a chance too, click HERE
It is not bullet proof and I am trying to get this to work so I can get this to work with a UC320W, but the principles the same with a UC500 series.
Cheers,
David.

Something else valuable here:
http://www.cisco.com/web/partners/sell/smb/tools_and_resources/smart_business_comm_system.html
- Create and enable a voice VLAN
• Change the VLAN interface settings according to the device to be connected
• Tag the voice VLAN and verify port-VLAN mapping
• Configure and apply LLDP MED policies
• Configure storm control and port security
• Connect IP phones and verify registration
• Configure SBCS as per the basic implementation guide

Thank you Steven. Is Cisco planning to add support for this switch in CCA sometime in the future? A new firmware has been released that supports CDP but CCA is recognizing the switch as an unsupported device.
Thanks a lot,
Alex.

Alexandru,
Look for CCA 3.1 to support the switch in the next couple of weeks
MAke sure you have the latest firmware and it will work with no problems
Have a great weekend

Are there plans to support WaP4410N APs also?
