Webex Calling Administration Professional Exam advice

Hi all,

Myself and a colleague are taking the Webex Calling Administration Professional Exam at the end of the month.  I've been looking on line to find any information I can about the structure of the exam, but I can't find anything!  All I know is that there are 4 hours allocated for it, which seems exceptionally long.

Does anyone know the structure of the exam?  Is it multiple choice (if so, how many questions are there), or are you given scenarios that you have to build?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, just so we have an idea of what we've let ourselves in for!

I took the exam yesterday (passed), and the format is:

  • 1 hour theory test
  • 3 hour practical test
  • 4 hours in total

The entire exam is open book.  You can use your notes, Google, crystal ball, whatever you want to.

You have to do the theory part first, and there are 25 multiple choice questions.  You have to answer a question before moving on to the next and you cannot go back and amend your answers.  For the theory part, I would recommend getting some revision cards and write out the flash cards on this site as a lot of the flash cards were questions in the test: https://quizlet.com/735021791/flashcards

As soon as you've finished the theory, you can move on to the practical.  The entire exam is four hours long, so if you finished the theory in 30 minutes, then you've got three and half hours you can spend on the practical.  However, you must finish the theory in the allocated one hour.  You'll get the score for you theory test immediately.  If you don't pass, don't worry, as it only forms part of the overall score (25%).

For the practical, you're given a login to a Partner Hub from the instructor, and you have to configure a trial, so they're checking what licences you select.  You have a PDF document with a scenario based on a small company and a small amount of users, and you have to decipher what you need to configure, and then configure it.  If you spend your revision time making sure you're good at configuring auto attendant and call queues, and explore all the options available in both, then you'll be absolutely fine.  You'll also need to configure hunt groups, call pickup groups, paging groups, voicemail groups, announcements and users.

When you've finished, you have to screenshot all your work and paste it in to a Word document that you'll also be given, and then upload it on academy.webex.com.  You won't know if you passed or not immediately, but it doesn't take long for the instructor to mark it.  You'll have to keep checking on academy.webex.com

We've booked the exam without the course.  So we're given all of the course notes, but we don't have a tutor to ask these kinds of questions.

I hope it's still in the format that you described.  It's a much better test of your knowledge than a multi-choice exam.

After I've taken the exam I'll report back here so that other people will know what the format is.

Hi @GavinW,

I took the exam two years back and based on my experience it was scenario based. The exam will present you the real world scenario and test you on your knowledge about configuration of end users, calling features such as voicemail, auto attendant, hunt groups, call queues, call pickup groups etc. There will be assignments where you will have to complete the configuration, take screenshots of the configuration and submit in their document format.
