Is there a means to configure autonomous 1121s to use EAP and use Microsoft Active Directory as the authenticator? Or will I need a RADIUS server?

You can use Microsoft IAS server .. i don'think active directory have an option to enable IEEE 802.1x on it.. .. it contain the database of users .. which can be mapped with some radius server ..
Here is link for you reference with IAS server
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb726967.aspx
If you open the above link and download peap.doc file .... you find information
802.1X-capable RADIUS server----> Available in Internet Authentication Service (IAS) in the Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 Server families which support only PEAP-MS-CHAP v2 and EAP-TLS.
Here is link with ACS server configuration :-
I believe these answers ur question ..
Pls rate this if you found this useful

Thanks for the links. From the server side (IAS) I believe that I have everything setup correctly. My follow-on questions is what does the configuration on the AP look like when configured for PEAP-MS-CHAP-V2 or EAP-TLS? An example would of great help.
