Hello,
I have a 2602e autonomous running 15.3(3)JF12i. In flash there is a file that is named the same as the PCB Serial Number as seen from "show ver". I backup the config of this device using RANCID. RANCID checks for diffs in config and archives a new version if something has changed.
Every once in a while this file will change modification time (and I assume contents). RANCID sees this and pulls a new config unnecessarily.
Anyone know what this file is ? There is a minor version bump IOS I could put on here, but my gut tells me it won't change this. I can hack RANCID to ignore this - but I'd really like to know what it is as well.
Thanks.
Here's what is looks like:

No idea what it is/does but the timestamp seems to roughly correlate with last reload.
I just delete them when cleaning up the flash and never seen any adverse effect so far...
