2602i lightweight to autonomous issue

DAVID BITONTI

I currently have a 2602i access point that I need to load autonomous image ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JAA.tar on to, with no WLC. I have already tried the steps from the following links...

http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/wireless/access_point/conversion/lwapp/upgrade/guide/lwapnote.html#wp160918

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQ_NuxdRhQ4

https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11875096/convert-2602i-lightweight-autonomous

Each time I have tried I am hooking my laptop running tftpd32 to the Ethernet interface on the AP. I have been using 10.0.0.5/24 and/or /27 as the IP for my laptop/tftp server. When doing the steps that say assign an address to g0 I have tried both 10.0.0.1 and 10.0.0.2/24 or /27.

I am at a loss and hoping that there is an answer out there that is specific to the 2602i that I have not found yet. Each time I go through any of the steps the connection to the tftp server times out. I have adjusted the time out setting in tftpd to 30, 45 and 100 seconds.

Thank you in advance

-Dave

Laptop is connected to a PoE Injector and this is connected to the AP.

PCI-Express Card with com port is connected to the Console port.

Firewall is off at Windows, Wifi also off.

image is in a folder at the desktop, i rename it to ap3g2-k9w7-tar.default

I power off the ap and start holding Mode Button

Power on

LED is blue

Are you able to ping the ap 10.0.0.1 when you are trying this? Also do you see any activity on the tftp server while doing this. Both will help identifying the issue. Make sure that on Windows explorer the you have “show file extensions” just to make sure Windows doesn’t have .tar in the end of the file.

No i can´t ping them.

Nothing at the tftp

Show file extension is on

at tftp

timeout i have 30 sec

max Retransmit 60

tftp port 69

tftft Security: None

Well it seems like the connection from your ap to your laptops Ethernet port. You need to be able to ping the ap which by default is 10.0.0.1

Problem was  the PoE Hub it don´t work correct.

Now i use a normal PoE Injector.

I can flash, but i don´t have a actual firmware.

So i try to configure.

Is there a howto to configure?

Problem i can´t connect to the internet and the SSID are not visible

Requirements:
1.TFTPd64 Server
2.Cisco IOS Software AP3G2-K9W7-M for (C3600 Series AP)

According to my network setup

set NETMASK 255.255.255.0 [According to my network setup]
set DEFAULT_ROUTER 192.168.1.7 [According to my network setup]
tftp_init
ether_init
flash_init
tar -xtract tftp://192.168.1.7/ap3g2-k9w7-tar.153-3.JH.tar flash:
