3802i with 8.10.130.0 does not broadcast "CiscoAirProvision" SSID after factory reset. Keeps showing "CAPWAP State: Discovery" in console

From my reading I thought 8.10.130.0 was a Mobility Express firmware.  I was expecting to see the "CiscoAirProvision" SSID being broadcast after the factory reset.  Am I missing something?  How do I get the AP to broadcast the initial SSID so I can go through the configuration wizard?

If you don't succeed you might need to open a TAC case.

I recall seeing a number of similar problems reported here previously (you can search for them) with the "not enough space" problem.  I think the solution was to downgrade to 8.5 then upgrade to 8.10.

First verify if the ME image is there and when you issue a show version, that you see ap image and ap configuration as mobility express. Also you might need to erase the nvram, factory reset again and when prompted for username, enter recover-config. You might also want to check the flash and delete any config files.

I don't know how to tell if it is an ME version or ME config.

After alot of googling I cannot find a command that works to erase nvram...

Trying recov-config at the login prompt resulted in the following... (I used Cisco as the password)...

You can start here and make sure the ap is booting with Mobility Express:

I tried to upgrade directly to ap3g3 firmware using tftp and it didn't work.  I then tried using ap3g3-k9w8-tar.153-3.JPK.tar thinking it was a lightweight AP and still get the same message....

It may take a few minutes. If longer, please abort command, check network and try again.

That's just a standard CAPWAP AP.  You need to install the ME software.  Follow the "Converting from CAPWAP Lightweight AP to Cisco Mobility Express Software" process.

Yep, that did it.
