I am planing to upgrade 2 of my 5508 series WLC from 7.0.116 to version 7.2.111.3. I understand that legacy AP's are no longer supported. Is there any other issues I should be aware of that others have experienced? Is the upgrade straight-forward just like other code upgrades? Thank you.

I have been told there are issues with guest anchoring on v7.3 code.
Will you be having Windows 8 wifi clients?

Should you have a mobility server or WCS, they will need to be upgraded. MSE is not too difficult but WCS would need upgrade to Prime infrastructure.

I would believe that windows 8 clients and windows 8 wireless NIC drivers not connecting has to do with the OS natively enforcing client MFP rather than a simple upgrade. Granted, versions of controller code from 7.0.235-3 and specific releases above that have "patched" the IEEE standard, until we get 7.4, things will not be compliant. Summary: if I had widows 8 clients, I would upgrade to specific release versions as documented by Cisco but ultimately get to a hardware platform and code supporting 7.4 release.

Hi Art-barrera,
whether the 7.4 version of WLC has released and is it effective to use.
Thanks
