5520 license

HI,

I have a spare 5520 WLC pair . I now need to put in the network for  several1552 Aps to register to it. For this i would purchase LIC-CT5520-UPG. Along with this, I am unable to purchase the adder license  LIC-5520-1A as i donot find this in the CCW.  Is this LIC-5520-1A needed or any other alternative?

Secondly, I have another pair of 5520 already in my network. To this, I am purchasing 9130 Aps along with DNA license to register to it. As 9130 Aps already has  a dna license, do i need to purchase adder license to the same?

Hello,
You can't buy licensing for the 5520 anymore because they went end-of-sale in 2021.

Although the 5520 is EOS the licenses are still orderable - I just confirmed it:

Part Number	Description
LIC-CT5520-UPG	Top Level SKU for 5520 AP Adder Licenses
LIC-CT5520-1A	Cisco 5520 Wireless Controller 1 AP Adder License
LIC-CT5520-DTLS-K9	Cisco 5520 Wireless Controller DTLS License

As Marce pointed out the 5520 uses RTU licenses, there are no license files to add.

You do not need DNA licenses for the 5520, but you do for the 9800.
The 5520 uses RTU licensing, regardless of AP model and the 9800 uses DNA licensing, also regardless of AP model.

Thank you. So What would be the solution for 1552 Aps to add to the one pair of 5520 WLC? And for 9k series Aps as it has DNA, need not have any license?
