9800 WLC - CW9166I-A and C9105AXW-A Mesh Configuration

Hello all,

I was trying to setup a mesh configuration on our 9800 WLC for C9105AXW-A and CW9166I-A APs. Not specifically between them, but having this scenario working would be great too.

I followed the guide below and when I reached step 7, I did not see an option to select mesh mode at all. At the same time our test AP, which is model AIR-AP3802I-A-K9 did have it in its settings.

I tried to look up if 9105 and 9166 APs even supported meshing or not, but was not able to find any definitive answer. Did I miss anything or there is no way to configure meshing with these APs at all?

9800 WLC Version: 17.9.4a

AP Firmware: 17.9.4.27

Mesh support on Cat 91xx series AP added in 17.12.x firmware. So you have to upgrade your WLC firmware and then test.

Hi @Rasika Nayanajith 17.12.1 only added mesh support for 9130AX, not the whole 91xx range of APs.
Mesh is not currently supported on the 916x APs.
