Hi

I would like to receive a suggestion about Access point models, The situation is that we need to install a Cisco Access point into a warehouse under 20 C. This warehouse is used to storage frozen food.

Can I use an outdoor 15XX model? or any suggestion?

Thank you in advance

It can be used for both. If you already have a controller, then I would use it. What my customers ran into was drilling holes was not allowed in some freezes so nothing they could do. So really depends on what is allowed. Others have ran antennas inside that are rated for outdoor use. This was their option due to cost of the AP’s.

That is what many have used in freezers as long as the model specifications meets that requirements.

Hi Scott,

Thank you, so no problem using it inside? Also can this model be used como standalone or a WLC is required?

Thank you so much again.

Thank you so much Scott!, they allow install it inside but the holes will be sealed, there is no a WLC so we are going to use it as standalone.

Thank you much again.

Okay cool:) well when you order a 15xx, make sure it supports autonomous code. There are some models which are end of sale so don’t know what you are looking for or if the buy used. Here is a handy link to verify what is supported:

Hi Scott,

These model like 1530 or 1540 can be used with power injectors? or can they support normal PoE (not UPoE)

Yes, but Cisco has specific power injectors for the specific model or it can be hard wired.

You need power injectors or hard wired power to power these up.
