Access Point not sending any Join Request ???

Hi All,

I have WLC 5520 with version running on 8.10.142.0.

AP Model AIR-CAP3702E-E-K9

Issue:

WLC can see the Discovery request but then AP does not send the AP join request. It can be seen in Monitor > Statistics > AP Join. "Received Discovery request and sent response"

The next message should be the "Received Join request and sent response" and "Received Config request and sent response" according to the other APs those are successfully working and clients are connected.

How can I troubleshooting on both WLC and AP to see why it is not receiving and sending, respectively, any Join request and so on?

Please help with commands or any document !!

Regards,

B

On the WLC, post the complete output to the following command:

sh ap join detail <AP MAC ADDRESS>

Console into the AP and reboot.  Post the entire bootup process.

Thanks Leo.

WLC has no info about the AP join.

(Cisco Controller) >show ap join stats detailed mac-address
No join information found for AP: mac-address

It looks to me that after this "Received Discovery request and sent response", AP does not sent any join request.

Is there any debug command that show what is received in Discovery Packet and any Join sent packet by AP?

Console into the AP and reboot the AP.
We want to see what the AP is doing.

If you can see the AP in Monitor > Statistics > AP Join then you should also see the stats on CLI so you must be typing the wrong MAC address.  Run that again with the correct MAC address and post the output.

And like Leo said you need to see what is happening on the AP.
