Acess Point licenses in a 2504 WLC

If I have a 2504 wlc with 15 AP licenses and I have 15 APs already registered, but I want to replace some of those APs, are the licenses tied up to the current registered APs or as I remove them from the wlc I can get another new AP joined to the controller?

Hi,

You can  go ahead and replace access points. The 15 AP  license is the number of access points supported. You can remove access points and install new ones, as long as the total access points is 15.

Thanks

John

Also make sure that your new APs are supported by your currently installed software version on the 2504.
I recommend 8.5.135.0 (or the yesterday released 8.5.140.0) and also a FUS upgrade to 1.20, if not already done.
Before you upgrade, make sure your old APs are still supported by 8.5.x.
