I have a Cisco C1111-8PWA router running 17.12.4. I recently initialized the wireless module (ISR-AP1100AC-A) that is running 8.8.100.0 but can't get the C9115AXI-B to work with it. I receive an endless list of error messages (view attached) and have tried resetting the AP using the mode button several times but it still does not work

Hello @90-Lowrider ,
Can you attach the error messages? Also can you share the C1111-8PWA sanitised configuration?

The router came with 16. I upgraded to 17. did that also change the AireOS? What do I have to do to make it work? Upgrade the AireOS on the wireless module?

The AP software is separate from the router software so needs to be upgraded independently from the router.
Check the config guide:
https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/routers/access/isr1100/software/configuration/xe-17/isr1100-sw-config-xe-17/configuring_wlan.html
Upgrade the AP software to EWC 8.10.196.0 which will support the 9115 AP (the embedded AP is a built-in version of the 1815i AP) - use the contents of the zip file for upgrade:
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286306794/type/286289839/release/8.10.196.0
If direct upgrade fails (common bug with Mobility Express as it runs out of flash space) then first convert it to CAPWAP mode and upgrade using https://software.cisco.com/download/home/286306794/type/286288051/release/15.3.3-JK11 then convert back to ME using the ME tar file image (not the zip file).
