Hello,
I have 7 access points running on WLC 2504 and trying to add another one for a total of 8 APs
Sysinfo shows I am allowed up to 75 access points,
license is showing I have 7 AP in use of 7 available but have another license for 5 not in use.
What is the best way to proceed here? new license?

75 is the maximum count support by 2500 model controller.
Currently you have 7 no. of license in your controller.
Issue the command show udi on the cli of WLC and share the Product ID of it.
May be this WLC procured with 5 AP license and later 2 more adder license where installed on it.

(Cisco Controller) >show udi
NAME: "Chassis" , DESCR: "Cisco 2500 Series Wireless LAN Controller"
PID: AIR-CT2504-K9, VID: V06, SN: PSZ20101HQ5
I was hoping to be able to use the additional 5 licences or add one more to the existing 7
Otherwise, what would be my options?

Seems at the initial stage controller was having the 5 AP license installed and then additional 2 license (So its showing 5 + 2 = 7)were installed on that. Currently the 7 license is in active.
If you want to add more than 7 APs, You have to purchase license and have to install in on the WLC.

You require an "Adder License" for the amount of additional APs you want.
Don't forget to reboot the WLC after adding a new license.
